Government offices set up social media accounts

The Government Communication Office can now be found on four social networking sites.

ABU DHABI // The Government Communication Office (GCO) launched accounts on four social networking websites at the Abu Dhabi Government Communication Forum on Sunday.

The aim is to provide a new channel of communication to interact with more people and keep them updated on the Government’s latest activities.

An updated General Secretariat of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council website was also launched, and it includes links to the accounts of the GCO on Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and Google Plus.

Participants at the conference said the move highlights the growing importance of digital media and social websites and their role in conveying the Government’s messages and efforts locally and globally.
