Government employees in capital to be paid ahead of Eid Al Fitr celebrations

Government employees in Abu Dhabi will receive this month's salary early, under the directives of President Sheikh Khalifa. The move will allow them to prepare for the upcoming Eid Al Fitr celebrations.

ABU DHABI // Government employees in the capital will receive their salary this month on July 20 - one week early.

The move, on the orders of President Sheikh Khalifa, will allow citizens to better prepare for Eid Al Fitr, the state news agency Wam said.

The Department of Finance has begun processing salaries for employees working for the local government, Armed Forces and Abu Dhabi Police. Police and Armed Forces retirees will also benefit.

The same gesture has been made in Dubai and Ajman.
