ABU DHABI // The speaker of the Federal National Council met on Thursday with a Kuwaiti parliamentary leader to discuss ties between the two bodies and developments in Yemen.
Mohammed Al Murr, speaker of the FNC, discussed regional developments with Mubarak Al Khurainej, deputy speaker of Kuwait’s National Assembly, and shared with him the FNC’s achievements and the progress of parliamentary life in the UAE, state news agency Wam reported.
The two sides noted the success of Operation Decisive Storm, the military operation against Houthi rebels in Yemen led by a Saudi-led coalition, and said that the next step is Operation Renewal of Hope to restore stability in the country.
Mr Al Khurainej voiced appreciation for achievements of UAE parliamentary diplomacy.
Abdulrahman Al Shamsi, assistant secretary-general of legislative and parliamentary affairs at the FNC, also attended the meeting.
