ABU DHABI // Relations between the UAE and Kazakhstan were discussed by the Speaker of the Federal National Council during a meeting on Sunday.
Dr Amal Al Qubaisi met Darija Nazarbayev, head of the foreign affairs, defence and security committee of Kazakhstan’s lower house of parliament, for talks about strengthening relations, including in fighting terrorism and extremism.
They also discussed efforts to prevent nuclear profileration, achieve peace and security in the region and dissociate Islam from terrorism, reported Wam, the state news agency.
“The UAE maintains strong relations with Kazakhstan that are developing through trade initiatives and economic and investment cooperation,” Dr Al Qubaisi said.
FNC members as well as the Kazakh ambassador to the UAE, Kairat Lama Sharif, attended the meeting.
