ABU DHABI // Relations between the UAE and Kazakhstan were discussed by the Speaker of the Federal National Council during a meeting on Sunday.
Dr Amal Al Qubaisi met Darija Nazarbayev, head of the foreign affairs, defence and security committee of Kazakhstan’s lower house of parliament, for talks about strengthening relations, including in fighting terrorism and extremism.
They also discussed efforts to prevent nuclear profileration, achieve peace and security in the region and dissociate Islam from terrorism, reported Wam, the state news agency.
“The UAE maintains strong relations with Kazakhstan that are developing through trade initiatives and economic and investment cooperation,” Dr Al Qubaisi said.
FNC members as well as the Kazakh ambassador to the UAE, Kairat Lama Sharif, attended the meeting.

From exhibitions to the battlefield
In 2016, the Shaded Dome was awarded with the 'De Vernufteling' people's choice award, an annual prize by the Dutch Association of Consulting Engineers and the Royal Netherlands Society of Engineers for the most innovative project by a Dutch engineering firm.
It was assigned by the Dutch Ministry of Defence to modify the Shaded Dome to make it suitable for ballistic protection. - Jebel Akhdar is a two-hour drive from Muscat airport or a six-hour drive from Dubai. It’s impossible to visit by car unless you have a 4x4. Phone ahead to the hotel to arrange a transfer.
