ABU DHABI // Thirteen employees resigned from the federal nuclear authority last year due to dissatisfaction with their jobs, it was revealed at Tuesday’s FNC session.
Member Hamad Al Rahoumi asked Dr Anwar Gargash, minister for FNC Affairs, about bonuses at the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR), and for the reason behind the resignations.
Dr Gargash attached a written response with bonus details and a timetable with the names, job details and reasons why the 13 quit.
It said that bonuses were mostly granted to specialised scholars in technical fields, and the 2013 bonuses had not yet been issued.
The report said all of the employees’ reasons for leaving included job dissatisfaction. Some got better job opportunities, while others told of unhappiness over job security, work environment and teamwork.
Mr Al Rahoumi said the minister’s response was satisfactory, but requested that the chief executive of FANR was summoned to the council.
Another FNC member, Rashad Bukhash, asked Dr Gargash why there was no law to organise the work of international non-government organisations in the country.
Dr Gargash confirmed there was no law as yet, but stated a bill is to be ready next year.
