Dubai Ruler writes poem to celebrate Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed's birthday

Layered with multiple meanings, the poem is filled with praise for the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, who turned 58 on Monday

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid has written a poem about Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed to celebrate the birthday of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

The Vice President and Ruler of Dubai shared the poem, written in Arabic, on his Instagram account on Monday.

Layered with multiple meanings, the poem is filled with praise for Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, who turned 58 on Monday.

Titled A Great Day, the poem describes Sheikh Mohamed - also known as Abu Khaled - as the pride and protector of the UAE, a role model to all Emiratis and an inspiration like his father, Founding Father Sheikh Zayed.

A Great Day, translated into English:

"Oh Abu Khaled, your birthday is prodigious,

you are held in high esteem, oh virtuous.

History bears witness to the benevolence

Zayed, our lasting pride, bestowed on us.

His wise choice you were indeed,

The day he entrusted you to lead.

Zayed knows best your nature,

Like him, you are inspirational and clever.

A pride you are to UAE, a leader to look up to,

People are yours, guide them through.

From our land, you shielded perils,

To smile and live in peace and bliss.

May God bless you with long life,

To celebrate and live well in peace."
