Dubai Police broke a Guinness world record on Saturday in honour of UAE National Day by arranging 143 cars in the shape of a happy face at Global Village.

Red, green, white and black vehicles were used to ensure the outline of the symbol was in the national colours of the UAE flag.

The law enforcement agency teamed up with 17 clubs, car teams and councils, including the Council of Happiness and Wellbeing, the Council of Youth Leaders, People of Determination Council and the Women Council for Society Happiness, to pull off the record-setting stunt.

The previous record was set in 2015 in Dubai by Pepsi with 121 cars.

“The achievement of setting a world record is another feather to the Dubai Police's cap of distinguished achievements worldwide, noting that this record, in particular, is crucial because it comes within the State celebrations of the 46th National Day,” said Brigadier General Abdullah Al Ghaithi.

Brigadier Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei said that “all the possibilities for organising the traffic and managing the event amid more than 600 audience present at the event to form the largest flag by cars have been harnessed within the framework of Dubai Police strategy in supporting national events.”
