Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nayhan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, hosted Chinese President Xi Jinping for a private dinner during his three-day state visit.

A number of UAE dignitaries were on hand to greet the China President during the dinner at Sea Palace in Abu Dhabi.

Mr Xi arrived in the UAE on Thursday for his first overseas rip since his re-election in March.

The UAE and China agreed to establish a comprehensive strategic partnership on Saturday, issuing a joint declaration on the final day of President Xi Jinping's state visit.

At the conclusion of the trip, President Xi was accompanied by a military guard of honour as he departed the UAE from the Presidential Airport.

The Chinese president now moves on to Africa, as Beijing moves to further cement its role as one of the continent’s closest allies. His tour takes him to Senegal, Rwanda, South Africa and then Mauritius.
