The Ministry of Interior launched the first awareness council in Abu Dhabi for 2015 aimed at connecting citizens with the various governmental institutions.
Lieutenant Colonel Dr Salah Al Ghoul, Director of the Law Respect Culture Bureau, said “following the success of the MoI’s Ramadan Councils, we are further motivated to continue expanding ways to benefit the largest possible number of citizens, residents, and visitors. The councils will be held throughout the year, and twice a month in the emirates of Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.”
Lt Colonel Dr Hamoud Al Afari, Deputy Director of the Law Respect Culture Bureau and Head of the work teams, said that councils will be set up between the entitites to serve as a connection between citizens, government bodies and civil society institutions.
“The councils provide a venue to brainstorm ideas regarding the most pressing issues in the local scene, and are a place where everyone is invited to contribute their opinions and to bring their questions. The official authorities will then answer all inquiries and further deliver additional messages of awareness in regards to the issue under consideration and discussion,” he said.
