Six members of the Australian parliament are set to visit the UAE on Friday to strengthen bilateral relationships. The delegation is set to meet officials, Government ministers and members of the Australian business community. They represent the three prominent political parties in Australia, with three members from the Labour party, two from the Liberals party and a senator from the National Party.

The members are Peter Handy, Gai Brodtmann, Rick Wilson, Bridget McKenzie, Bernie Riproll and Maria Vamvakinou.

Australia is one of the UAE’s biggest cultural and trading partners with more than 800 Emirati students studying in the country. The UAE also has significant investments in Australia, estimated at around Dh50 billion, mainly through its sovereign wealth funds, including in the agribusiness, tourism, infrastructure and resources sectors.
