Abu Dhabi Police have warned members of the public not to be taken in by fraudsters claiming to use witchcraft to solve their problems.
Officers said they had arrested a man after receiving reports he was practicing black magic to cure their ills.
Police said the individual used social media to advertise his services, charging customers a fee for consultations.
They described any such behaviour as a “trick” and warned that authorities would take legal action against anyone involved.
“Members of the public should not fall into the trap of these people,” a police spokesman said.
