A seven-year-old girl was killed and her mother seriously injured in a traffic accident on Emirates Road yesterday morning.
The mother was taking her daughter and son, who suffered minor injuries, to school at 7am when the accident happened.
Dr Abdul Wahid Al Wahidi, of Al Qassimi hospital, said the girl suffered severe internal bleeding and died while being treated.
Her mother was admitted to the ICU suffering from a neck fracture and injury to her head.
The boy was discharged.
