The foundation stone for a Dh100 million sports stadium in Dibba was laid by the Crown Prince of Fujairah on Wednesday.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi said the new stadium is part of efforts to develop the emirate’s sports facilities.
He was briefed on the layout, design and specs of the stadium during the ceremony, which was attended by several officials.
Ahmed Al Dhanhani, chairman of the board of directors of Dibba Al Fujairah Club, thanked Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Ruler of Fujairah, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad for their support of the project.
Mr Al Dhanhani said the stadium will serve millennials in Dibba Al Fujairah and adjacent areas, and host many sporting championships.
