Fujairah gives shisha cafes one year to relocate
Fujairah Municipality has given cafes in the emirate’s residential areas one year to move to pre-approved locations. The order to move to a site far from residential areas is in line the Federal Law on Tobacco Control No 15 of 2009. The municipality will hold meetings with coffee shops to answer their enquiries.
An official who took part at a training course organised by the Ministry of Health last week along with 30 representatives of government bodies said there were 35 cafes in Fujairah, including those inside hotels.
Some are located in residential areas and must move to the industrial zone by the end of 2015, the official said, adding that even after moving, coffee shops still must observe health and safety requirements.
