Four were killed and three seriously injured when a pickup truck and a lorry collided on Emirates Road on Thursday afternoon, Dubai Traffic Police said.
Brig Saif Al Mazrouei, director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, said: “A pick up driver hit a heavy-duty lorry that caused the lorry to hit another car.”
“The driver of the pickup truck and three passengers died on spot while the passengers of other vehicles sustained major injuries,” said brig Al Mazrouei.
The crash took place around 4pm, according to Dubai Traffic Police.
Three injured passengers were airlifted to Rashed Hospital.
Brig Al Mazrouei said that not leaving a safe distance is a major cause of serious accidents.
