SHARJAH // Five men have been arrested for allegedly stealing safes and cash from shops and other businesses around the emirate.
The gang of four men from Afghanistan and one Pakistani were arrested in Ajman after officers from Sharjah worked in co-ordination with the emirate’s police.
During interrogations, one of the Afghans confessed to carrying out the thefts with the others.
The men told investigators that they wired the money they stole to their home countries.
Police referred the gang to Sharjah Prosecution to face trial.
