Etihad Airways will mark its 10-year anniversary today with a fly-by over Abu Dhabi’s Corniche.
An A340-500 will take off from the city’s airport at 5.10pm and fly along the coast, arriving at the Corniche Breakwater at 5.30pm.
Giorgio Evangelisti, the captain, will travel at a low altitude of just 600 feet.
A variety of events will be held at the same time, including a boat parade and water performances. The celebration will culminate in a fireworks show.
The commemorative fly-past follows a weekend of celebrations for Abu Dhabi’s national airline.
Etihad celebrated its birthday on Friday by inviting employees to a day-long party at Yas Marina Circuit as a thank you for a decade of hard work and dedication.
More than 20,000 people gathered to mark the milestone.
