Visitors to Umm Al Emarat Park in Abu Dhabi will pay double the price to enter the beauty spot from next week. Fees will rise from Dh5 to Dh10 starting this Sunday, said the park management across its social media pages on Monday. <br/> "Dear park lovers, to further expand our offerings and better serve our friends and neighbours from across the community, ticket prices will change to Dh10 starting September 1," the park said on Facebook . Rasha Kablawi, head of communications at Umm Al Emarat Park, told<em> The National </em>proceeds from the ticket prices will go towards maintaining the park facilities and expanding its offerings. "We are currently in the process of renovating some of our park facilities including the water activation as well as changes to the animal barn which is set to reopen in the coming months," he said. Some new features will be added to the park in the coming months too, details of which will be announced at nearer the time. Open from 8am to 12am daily, the sprawling park is home to eight attraction areas including a botanical garden, which houses more than 200 regional plant species, and a child friendly petting zoo, managed in collaboration with Emirates Park Zoo. The park spans 14.5 hectares and is one of most popular green havens in Abu Dhabi for tourists and residents alike. First opened in 1982, Umm Al Emarat Park — previously known as Mushrif Park — is one of the largest parks in the city.
