Humidity levels reached 85 per cent in Dubai and Abu Dhabi during the early morning commute on Monday and the hazy weather is expected to continue on Tuesday.

Cloud will drift over the UAE during late morning and early afternoon on Monday, especially over eastern and southern areas, but there will be bouts of sunshine throughout the day.

The National Centre of Meteorology forecasts humidity levels could rise by the evening and will remain high on Tuesday morning.

Top temperatures could reach 39°C in Dubai and 41°C in Abu Dhabi on Monday, the weather bureau said.

In some parts of the country, particularly coastal areas, humidity levels are expected to hit as high as 90 per cent, the weather bureau said.

Conditions will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
