Weather in Abu Dhabi and Dubai will be cloudy throughout the day on Sunday and temperatures are expected to reach 40°C in some parts of the country.
There will be a moderate breeze across the Emirates with the possibility of rain in eastern areas, the National Centre of Meteorology said.
Humidity will reach 70 per cent in Dubai and 75 per cent in Abu Dhabi and will continue into Monday morning.
In Dubai lows of 30°C and highs of 40°C are predicted. In Abu Dhabi temperatures of 28°C to 40°C should be expected.
In the morning the Arabian Gulf will be moderate, with predictions of similar conditions in the Oman Sea.
Moving into Monday it will be humid at night with the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea expected to remain moderate.

Iftar programme at the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding
Established in 1998, the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding was created with a vision to teach residents about the traditions and customs of the UAE. Its motto is ‘open doors, open minds’. All year-round, visitors can sign up for a traditional Emirati breakfast, lunch or dinner meal, as well as a range of walking tours, including ones to sites such as the Jumeirah Mosque or Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood.
Every year during Ramadan, an iftar programme is rolled out. This allows guests to break their fast with the centre’s presenters, visit a nearby mosque and observe their guides while they pray. These events last for about two hours and are open to the public, or can be booked for a private event.
Until the end of Ramadan, the iftar events take place from 7pm until 9pm, from Saturday to Thursday. Advanced booking is required.

Heavily-sugared soft drinks slip through the tax net
Some popular drinks with high levels of sugar and caffeine have slipped through the fizz drink tax loophole, as they are not carbonated or classed as an energy drink.
Arizona Iced Tea with lemon is one of those beverages, with one 240 millilitre serving offering up 23 grams of sugar - about six teaspoons.
A 680ml can of Arizona Iced Tea costs just Dh6.

Electoral College Victory
Trump has so far secured 295 Electoral College votes, according to the Associated Press, exceeding the 270 needed to win. Only Nevada and Arizona remain to be called, and both swing states are leaning Republican. Trump swept all five remaining swing states, North Carolina, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin, sealing his path to victory and giving him a strong mandate.
