Donations to the UAE Water Aid campaign have reached Dh86.1 million on the sixth day of the initiative.
The state news agency Wam reported that the amount collected will provide fresh drinking water for 3.4 million people in developing countries.
The campaign has now reached 69 per cent of the 5 million people it is targeting.
On Thursday, Dh5m was given by Dubai World Trade Centre, Dh300,000 from Ahmed Sultan bin Sulayem and Dh250,000 from Dubai Contracting Company.
Fatima Mohammed donated Dh100,000 to become the first housewife contributor.
