Students challenged to come up with green solutions for Abu Dhabi school



ABU DHABI // University students in Abu Dhabi could win US$5,000 for thinking of environmentally friendly solutions for schools.

The competition challenges students to work in teams to develop solutions for creating a school that fosters a healthy environment conducive to learning while saving energy, resources and money, state news agency Wam reported.

The winning team would implement their solution at the American Community School of Abu Dhabi.

The plans are to be presented at the Sila Connection 2014 conference at New York University Abu Dhabi from November 21 to 22.

Teams from Abu Dhabi University, the Higher Colleges of Technology, Khalifa University, NYU Abu Dhabi, the Petroleum Institute, Paris-Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi and Zayed University are participating.
