ABU DHABI // The gloomy weather that has covered the country for the past week is expected to continue for at least the next 48 hours, with forecasters warning of more rain and low temperatures on the way.

Most areas will see cloudy skies with a chance of rain as the mercury drops to as low as 13 degrees Celsius in the Liwa desert at night, with lows of 22 degrees C in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

As the winds pick up, conditions out at sea will become rough while exposed areas will be affected by blowing dust which forecasters warn could hinder visibility.

The outlook for Monday sees the clouds remaining with a continued chance of rainfall over northern and eastern areas and slight to moderate winds.

The relative humidity will increase during the night and early morning over some coastal and internal areas, with a chance of fog especially inland. The sea will be moderate to rough at times in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea.
