FUJAIRAH // A quarry operating in the Al Hayl area of Fujairah has been shut down for three months by authorities for breaking regulations.
Ghanim Al Shamsi, acting assistant undersecretary of external audit at the MoEW, said the quarry was found in violation of a number of regulations and has been suspended for three months.
He said that the quarry will be allowed to resume work only after the three-month period is over and the situation is rectified in line with ministry’s regulations.
The closure came after inspectors from the Ministry of Environment and Water made visits to quarries in an effort to improve environmental performance and sustainability.
