60 kph winds whip up rough seas off UAE coast

Meteorologists say waves in the Arabian Gulf have reached up to 3.7 metres in height

ABU DHABI // Mariners are again being warned about rough seas in the Arabian Gulf.

The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology said on Wednesday that waves have reached heights of 3.7 metres, with strong north-westerly winds and strong currents.

Conditions off the coast of Oman are expected to be similar.

Winds are expected to reach up to 60 kph at times throughout the day in coastal areas.

The windy conditions are expected to continue until Thursday.
