Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed discusses Ukraine and climate change with John Kerry

Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation, spoke by phone with John Kerry, US Special Presidential Envoy for Climate, about how to improve international action on climate change.

On Wednesday, the officials discussed the developments in Ukraine and the importance of intensifying international efforts to reach a political settlement to the crisis and contain its repercussions.

They also explored energy issues and the importance of achieving stability in global power and food markets.

Sheikh Abdullah and Mr Kerry shared views on the role of the Abraham Accords in promoting climate action.

Sheikh Abdullah emphasised the UAE's commitment to working with its international partners on climate action.

Mr Kerry praised the role played by the UAE in global action, especially its initiatives to achieve climate neutrality by 2050.
