Emirati national committee for education and culture formed



An Emirati national committee for education, culture and science held its first meeting Monday to discuss future strategies and launch its website.

The committee was established by Ministerial Decree 67 of 2017 to be a communication platform between all UAE entities concerned with education, culture, science, media and communication.

“The committee is considered a supporting arm for local and international efforts in the fields of education, culture, sciences and promoting co-operation,” said UAE Minister of Education Hussain Al Hammadi, who chaired the first meeting.

“At this point, we are looking for more professionalism at work and enhancing out partnerships locally and globally to contribute in elevating education and culture indices. We will spare no effort in supporting and providing all the needful through the equipment and human resources human of the Ministry of Education and its teams to guarantee quality of output.”

The committee also announced that 111 schools will be evaluated to identify their level of commitment to the UNESCO Sustainable Development goals. These schools, which will be restructured in a manner that to ensure that those goals are achieved, have 10 days to register on the committee’s website.

Two annual forums will be held to introduce the committee and its goals and objectives locally and to nurture or enhance the traditional values of tolerance, innovation, creativity, entrepreneurship and focus. The tasks of the committee are in line with the national visions and the requirements of a global leadership.

Real estate tokenisation project

Dubai launched the pilot phase of its real estate tokenisation project last month.

The initiative focuses on converting real estate assets into digital tokens recorded on blockchain technology and helps in streamlining the process of buying, selling and investing, the Dubai Land Department said.

Dubai’s real estate tokenisation market is projected to reach Dh60 billion ($16.33 billion) by 2033, representing 7 per cent of the emirate’s total property transactions, according to the DLD.
