Emirati man, 75, killed while driving daughter to school in Ras Al Khaimah

An Emirati man was killed in a road crash in Ras Al Khaimah while driving his daughter to school.

The motorist, 75, died in a two-car collision on Wednesday morning. His daughter, 14, and the driver of the other vehicle escaped with moderate injuries.

Police and an ambulance were immediately sent to the scene after the accident was reported at 7.40am. Police did not disclose the location.

Col Ahmad Al Naqbi, of RAK Police, said the Emirati man died from his injuries at the scene.

“The girl and the other driver, who was alone in the vehicle, were transferred to the nearest hospital, along with the body of the man,” Col Al Naqbi said.

The case has been referred to public prosecution for further investigation.

Police urged motorists to drive with caution when approaching schools and to adhere to traffic regulations, including wearing seat belts at all times.
