The Emirates Red Crescent opened a number of health and service projects in the camps of displaced Iraqis in Erbil on Saturday.
The projects included two health clinics, a bakery and a lighting project, which serves more than three thousand camp-dwellers.
An ERC delegation was headed by Dr Mohammad Al Falahi, secretary-general of the ERC, who said that the projects are meant to alleviate the suffering of displaced Iraqis and to stand by them during these difficult circumstances.
The camps in the Kurdish region of Iraq are experiencing an influx of refugees from the surrounding area due to increased fighting with ISIL.
It is hoped the project will be extended to tens of thousands of other refugees in the future.
