DUBAI // Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed, chairman and chief executive officer of Emirates airline, has held a reading activity for students from the Rashid Centre for Disabled.
Sheikh Ahmed read them passages from his favourite book at his office as part of the UAE Year of Reading campaign.
Maryam Othman, director general of Rashid Centre for Disabled, said that the students showed great enthusiasm for the activity.
She said the reading session “shed light on the importance of reading”.
The centre has also organised several reading activities in their premises in which writers, poets and other literary personalities spent time with children and did reading activities.
This year was declared the Year of Reading by President Sheikh Khalifa to create a generation of book lovers.
