ABU DHABI // Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, expressed appreciation and support for the nation’s educators on World Teachers’ Day.

“We entrust teachers with our children, to spark their imagination, safeguard their minds and to foster their sense of belonging,” said Sheikh Mohammed.

They had a crucial role in encouraging children to embrace their homeland.

The challenges the UAE faced required the “redoubling of our efforts” to deepen children’s loyalty and allegiance he said, but its leaders had “rock solid” confidence in the dedication of teachers.

“You are the backbone of the most valuable asset we have, which is the human being. The responsibility of building the Emirati human being lies on your shoulders,” said Sheikh Mohammed.

“Whoever bears this tremendous responsibility is performing a national duty which is as great as the duty of a soldier who defends his country in battles of honour and glory.

“You will deliver more achievements and preserve national gains. I hereby assure you that education receives unlimited support of our leadership and constitutes a key priority for us which we will support.”
