The Mohammed bin Rashid Smart Learning Programme has signed an agreement with Microsoft Gulf which aims to strengthen cooperation between the two in the field of smart learning.

Microsoft will provide guidance, assistance and training to school leaders, teachers and students as part of the agreement.

A team of consultants specialising in technology and education will provide a year of training to a group of schools within the programme. They will also offer workshops to train 1,420 teachers in the latest education technology.

The technical teams will also receive Microsoft’s assistance in developing customised applications for teachers and students that help the learning process.

“We at Mohammed bin Rashid Smart Learning Programme are careful to select only the best in class partners to continue to crystallise the UAE’s vision and the objectives of the Ministry of Education for a highly evolved education system,” said Mohammed Gheyath, director general of the programme.

“Our collaboration with Microsoft will result in a highly supported and enriched learning experience in classrooms across the UAE.”

Kevin Turner, Microsoft Corporation’s chief operating officer, reiterated the organisation’s commitment to providing students and teachers with the latest technology.

“It will enable thousands of teachers to have access to the latest tools and methodologies to facilitate the smart learning process and help shape the minds of tomorrow’s leaders. Additionally, these technologies will empower the students to cooperate better in the classroom so as to enhance their experience with smart learning.”
