Unesco has appointed Dr Mansour Al Awar, chancellor of Hamdan bin Mohammed e-University, as a member of the board of trustees of the Unesco Institute for Information Technologies in Education, making him the first Arab to accede to the institute’s board membership since its establishment.
The Emirati was selected for his pivotal efforts in disseminating the culture of e-learning and adapting contemporary advances to meet the needs of the Arab World, as well as for his role at Hamdan bin Mohammed e-University.
Dr Al Awar will join a board of 10 members made up of academic officials from various parts of the world who provide quality contributions in applying IT and communications techniques in education.
