Dubai TEDx Talk to cover gender, language, race and access to basic services

DUBAI // An evening of TEDx Talks next week aims to encourage innovation. Held in collaboration with the Dubai Women Establishment under the theme ‘Shifting Perceptions,’ four speakers and innovation-related talks will cover gender, language, race and access to basic services.

Sarah Amiri, chairwoman of the Emirates Scientists Council and science lead of the Emirates Mars Mission is among the speakers.

Others include artist and composer Usman Riaz, founder of the first hand-drawn animation studio in Pakistan; Sajjad Kamal, co-founder of AlemHealth a diagnostic telemedicine start-up operating in Afghanistan and Africa and Larissa Pak, a TEDx ambassador who will speak about people who have challenged the status quo.

The talks will be held on November 21 at 6pm at The Yard, Alserkal Avenue in Al Quoz, Dubai.
