Dubai's Horizon English School has announced plans for a major facelift of its sporting and education facilities.

The school, which is in Al Safa in Dubai, will add new sporting facilities, including a raised playing area, as well as upgrades to the existing pool and fitness areas.

New specialist teaching spaces will also be built, as well as more dining and auditorium areas. The car park will also be expanded to ease traffic congestion.

"Completing the design of the improved facilities at Horizon English School has been amongst the highlights of my tenure as headmaster," said David Baldwin, the school's outgoing headmaster.

"I'm delighted to have been a part of this before I return to the UK."

Raza Khan, chief executive of Al Najah Education, said: “Al Najah Education’s investment in new facilities means that children at Horizon English School will continue to benefit from a happy, safe and high-quality learning environment for many years to come.”
