Duo arrested in Sharjah on suspicion of breaking into cars

SHARJAH // Two men have been arrested on suspicion of breaking into cars around the emirate.

Pakistani K M and A A D, a Gulf national, allegedly smashed the windows of more than 20 cars and stole items from inside, police said.

Officers from the Police Criminal Investigation Unit were able to identify the two men after investigating the crime scenes.

The Gulf national had a prior criminal record for theft and was in the country illegally.

During interrogations, the men admitted to stealing from cars. They have been referred to Sharjah Prosecution to stand trial.

Police urged motorists to remove any valuable items from their cars, specifically when they go to pray at mosque, and to park in well lit areas.
