Dubai Ruler promotes thousands of policemen

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid on Sunday ordered the promotion of thousands of policemen.

The Vice President and Ruler of Dubai promoted 4,116 officers, warrant officers and other members of Dubai Police.

He also ordered the status of 148 officers to be changed and promoted and retired 15 policemen, reported the state news agency Wam.

Maj Gen Abdullah Al Marri, commander-in-chief of Dubai Police, thanked the Dubai Ruler for his decision which he said showed the extent of his support for the Police and its employees.

Maj Gen Al Marri said the gesture encouraged the police force to continue performing their national duties to the best of their abilities to ensure the security and safety of Dubai's citizens and residents.
