DUBAI // A policeman charged with swearing in public and threatening to kill a colleague if he told his superiors he had an alcohol problem has been cleared.
The Yemeni defendant, 43, visited a police station when drunk, said one witness, a 54-year-old Dubai Police officer. The defendant allegedly threatened to stab the officer to death if he lost his job over the matter.
The policeman denied the charges and the court acquitted him, though no reason for the decision was given.
