Dubai Police to deploy Emirati women as mounted police

Twelve Emirati women are receiving advanced training on horse riding and learning skills of how to control and take care of their horses.

Dubai Police are planning to deploy Emirati mounted policewomen in the next few months as part of a strategy to boost anti-crime efforts. Col Jamal Al Jallaf, deputy head of Criminal Investigation Department for Management and Control Affairs, said that the women will take part in police operations in addition to their essential role in community events and holidays.

Twelve Emirati women are receiving advanced training on horse riding and learning skills of how to control and take care of their horses, Col Al Jallaf said, adding that there are plans to train more Emirati mounted police.

Dubai Police encourages the presence of women police in its ranks and their participation in all kinds of events and units.
