A shop worker who found an envelope stuffed with Dh20,000 in cash has been honoured for his honesty.
Sudip Rana Magar, 25, from Nepal, found the money while cleaning a shoe store in Dubai Mall.
Realising it had been left by a female customer who had left the shop, he handed the envelope in to his manager.
Store bosses then alerted Dubai Police who are now attempting to identify the lady.
“I’m really happy and proud to be getting this certificate [from Dubai Police],” said Mr Magar.
“I was cleaning the cash counter when I found the envelope and was just going to throw it away.
“But I opened it and saw the cash. My family always taught me to be honest [so] I put the envelope in a drawer and called my manager.
“She told me to hand the envelope over to the mall’s management.”
The incident happened on February 2 at Danish shoe company ECCO.
Mr Magar added: “I’m hoping that the police find the lady. That will make me even happier."

What is the definition of an SME?
