DUBAI // From April 1, 2015, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority customers will only be able to complete certain transactions through its website or smart app.

Services include move-in or final bill requests, updating customer information or general inquiries.

“These efforts are in alignment with the Dubai Plan 2021 to promote Dubai as a smart, integrated and connected city, creating an infrastructure that supports the economic and social life of Dubai as a city that matches world-class levels,” said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, chief executive and managing director of Dewa.

“It also promotes using resources sustainably over the long term, in line with international best practice levels in terms of consumption, efficiency, and management.”

In 2013, Dewa’s customers conducted 3.3 million transactions through its website and smart app.
