Dubai driver jailed for trying to have sex with shepherd

Pakistani told countryman that he would have sex with him in a tent but the shepard called the driver's sponsor, who arrived with police.

DUBAI // A driver who wanted to have sex with a fellow worker but was instead framed by his victim and arrested will serve six months in jail.

Dubai Criminal Court convicted 23-year-old Pakistani A B of attempted rape, which he denied last month.

He called his countryman T K, a shepherd, on September 20 last year and told him he wanted to have sex with him at the farm where he worked. The pair arranged a meeting time for later that day.

“I said no and told him I wanted no problems but he insisted so I called his sponsor and informed him,” said the shepherd.

When the driver arrived at the shepherd’s tent, he ordered him to lay down but the latter stalled until A B’s sponsor arrived. “He came along with the police,” said the shepherd.

Records show that the driver tried to escape but failed.

Emirati arresting officer Y A, 19, testified that the defendant confessed to him willingly during questioning.

The driver was sentenced to six months in jail, followed by deportation.
