A man has been sentenced to three months in prison after he attacked police officers who were called to his property, following complaints from neighbours about loud music.
Dubai Criminal Court convicted the 41-year-old British man of physical assault, damaging a police uniform, causing disturbance to others and consuming alcohol without a licence.
He was also fined Dh2000 for consuming alcohol and another Dh250 for damaging a police uniform.
His neighbours in a Business Bay residential tower reported him to police, on June 22, after he was causing a disturbance.
He was shirtless when he answered the door to police, who asked him to get dressed and go downstairs to the building’s reception area to speak with them.
“We could smell alcohol on him and saw that he was being aggressive for no reason,” said one of the officers.
The man attacked one of the policemen as they were walking together, hitting and scratching him on the neck before tearing his uniform.
After being restrained, he was arrested and taken to Bur Dubai Police Station.
He initially failed to appear when he was due to in court on September 5 to face the charges.
Once he completes his three-month sentence he will be deported back to his home country.

1) Breast cancer is men is rare but can develop rapidly. It usually occurs in those over the ages of 60, but can occasionally affect younger men.
