It has been a very special Eid Al Adha for many parents across the country who are celebrating new arrivals.
Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women and Children in Abu Dhabi had a particularly busy start to the holiday, with ten babies arriving in the early hours of Tuesday.
Emirati Mohammed Salem Al Mansouri is celebrating the birth of his first son at 12.08am, weighing 2.7kg and named Zayed after the UAE’s founding father.
“The birth of our baby during the first day of Eid was a surprise, so the memorable occasion is now twice the celebration,” he said.
“We are very thankful for this blessing. We would like to congratulate the nation’s leaders, government and the people of the UAE on this very special day.”
Zayed was born two weeks ahead of schedule, both mother and baby are doing well.
Just over an hour later, at 1.11am, the hospital welcomed a girl, weighing 3.6kg and born to Russian and American parents.
Elsewhere, at Burjeel Hospital in Abu Dhabi, twin Mohammed and Hamdan were born to their Saudi mother and Emirati father, shortly after midnight on Tuesday.
“We are over the moon at the birth of our two healthy baby boys,” said proud dad Zayed Al Katheeri.
“The delivery of our twin boys is the best gift we could ever imagine, and we are so excited to welcome the twins into the world this Eid Al Adha.”
