Dead baby found in Sharjah rubbish container

The discovery of the newborn infant was made by sanitation workers, who informed police.

SHARJAH // The body of a newborn child has been found in a rubbish container in Al Saaja.

The discovery was made by sanitation workers who informed police, reported Al Ittihad, the sister newspaper of The National.

Investigators have inspected the scene while the body has been taken to Al Qasimi Hospital to determine cause of death.

Earlier this week, two baby girls were found alive in Sharjah after being abandoned – the first in a mall and the second in a bathroom at Al Kuwait Hospital.

Another body of a newborn was found near a skip in the Al Saaja area in March.
