Two British citizens arrested in Dubai for possession of drugs with intent to supply

Pair, who are out on bail, were found with cannabis and pills, police say

Two British citizens have been arrested for possession of drugs with the intent to supply.

Dubai Police said the pair were charged with possession of cannabis, pills and other items classified as illegal substances in the UAE.

UK media reports say a female cabin crew member, 23, and a male executive were arrested last month after police found the drugs in the man's flat.

They have been referred to Public Prosecution and released on bail pending further investigations.

"The UAE has a zero-tolerance policy for the recreational use of drugs," Dubai Police said.

"The penalty for personal possession can be up to 10 years imprisonment and drug trafficking can result in a life sentence.”
