DUBAI // A man caught at the Dubai airport carrying a second fake passport and 21 fake credit cards was sentenced to six months in prison this morning.
AA, 27, of Pakistan, was not present for his first hearing in April and did not enter a plea before the Dubai Criminal Court of First Instance.
Prosecutors said that on August 19, 2009, the fake passport and credit cards were found during a search of his luggage at Dubai International Airport.
The passport carried a different name and had invalid information as well as fake entry stamps from Dubai and a visit visa stamp.
Twenty-one fake Visa and MasterCards carrying names of different UAE banks were found with AA and a passenger tricked into carrying one of AA's bags.
AA confessed to investigators that he intended to use the cards inside the country. He will be deported after serving his prison term.
