Man with drugs in his pockets pleads his innocence, UAE court hears

An Iranian man denies involvement in drug-dealing, a criminal court heard.

An Iranian man who was caught with bags of heroin and cocaine in his pockets pleaded his innocence at the criminal court yesterday.

Following a tip-off, he was arrested as he left the hotel he was staying in, and found to have a bag of brown powder in the left pocket of his shorts, and a bag of white power in his right pocket.

He admitted to police that he was dealing the drugs, but denied it in the Abu Dhabi criminal court yesterday.

A verdict will be announced on December 13.
