Climber rescued by helicopter on Fujairah mountain

FUJAIRAH // An Emirati climber in his thirties was rescued after being trapped on top of Al Halah mountain on Saturday.

Fujairah Police found out about the man at 3.30pm and immediately informed the National Search and Rescue Centre.

A helicopter with a rescue team found the climber and managed to transfer him to a nearby hospital for a medical check-up.

Col Humaid Al Yamahi, director general of police operations at Fujairah Police, advised people to be cautious when out climbing in rugged areas, stick to designated paths and always make sure to have an active communications device for emergency situations.
