Charity starts in the desert

ABU DHABI // The UAE Charity Challenge team, who will be competing in the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge in March, have been nominated for the Princess Haya Award for Special Education in the Outstanding Campaign/Fundraising campaign category. The nomination recognises the team's ongoing fundraising for UAE charities as well as a malaria charity in Uganda. This year, the team hopes to raise a total of Dh500,000 for the Malaria Consortium and the Abu Dhabi-based Future Centre for Special Needs sponsorship. Last year, the team collected Dh323,700 for good causes.
